Kelly Post Lacrosse is excited to introduce our NEW Try Lax classes and clinics — a beginner-friendly program designed to help young kids learn lacrosse in a safe, supportive, and non-competitive environment! No gear or experience required — just interest and enthusiasm!

Age Groups

Try Lax largely follows our Kelly Post spring age groupings. Futures is a mixed-age group for new and beginner players in 2nd - 5th Grade.

KP Tiny

3-5 year olds | DOB: 01/01/20 - 8/31/22

Our youngest athletes get their first taste of lacrosse in a playful, engaging environment. KP Tiny focuses on movement, coordination, teamwork, and basic stick skills — all while fostering a love for the game. It’s the perfect introduction to lacrosse and sets the stage for growth into future programs. Soft lacrosse balls are used throughout the season to ensure a safe and fun environment.

Boys | K + 1st Grade

Ducks

Boys | K + 1st Grade

5-6 year olds | DOB: 01/01/18 - 08/31/21

At the Ducks level, boys are introduced to the basics of lacrosse in a fun, supportive environment. No equipment is required — just a stick and a willingness to learn. Families can choose Ducks as an introduction to lacrosse, or for 1st graders, progress to Tyker for the full pads experience.

At the Ducks level, players begin learning the fundamentals of lacrosse while building confidence and having fun with friends without equipment. The focus is on teamwork, sportsmanship, and fostering a love for the game. Games are played exclusively against other Kelly Post teams — perfect for first-time players or as a stepping stone to Tyker the following season. Soft lacrosse balls are used throughout the season to ensure a safe, fun introduction to the sport.

Girls | K + 1st Grade

Clinic

Girls | K + 1st Grade

5-6 year olds | DOB: 01/01/18 - 08/31/21

At the Clinic level, girls are introduced to the basics of lacrosse in a fun, supportive environment.

The girls will be introduced to basic skills and concepts of girls' lacrosse with an emphasis the development and mastery of fundamental skills and game IQ. Learning to be part of, play with, and contribute to a team are essential components of the Kelly Post Program.

Futures

Boys | 2nd - 5th Grade

Futures is a mixed-age group youth development program designed to introduce players to the foundations of lacrosse in a fun, supportive, and team-centered environment.

Each session emphasizes fundamental skills like passing, catching, shooting, and movement — all while nurturing teamwork, sportsmanship, and self-confidence. Kids will learn the value of working together, supporting their teammates, and enjoying the process of getting better every week.

Ready for more reps, more skills, and more fun? Our 5-week Sessions focus on skill development, small-sided games, and building confidence in every player. It’s the perfect way to grow your game in a positive, team-focused environment while building the necessary familiarity and skills to thrive in the upcoming season.
