Kelly Post Girls' Lacrosse | Select Program
The Kelly Post Girls' Lacrosse program is excited to introduce Kelly Post Select, an expanded offering for KP families who are looking for additional development, competitive opportunities, and team continuity beyond the traditional spring rec season.
The goal is simple: give committed players more opportunities to keep a stick in their hands, build advanced skills, gain meaningful game experience, and develop chemistry with teammates who will play together throughout the year and, ideally, from season to season.
We recognize that many of our players are multi-sport athletes, and we believe that well-rounded athletes become stronger lacrosse players. Kelly Post Select will be built with that in mind, while also respecting family time and the reality that every family’s schedule looks different.
Kelly Post Select Programming
The final structure will depend on family interest and coaching availability, but the program vision includes:
- Spring MYLA league participation
- Early summer tournament play
- Fall practices and tournament play
- Winter skills opportunities
- Offseason play days or scrimmages with other rec council programs
This is intended to be a flexible but competitive extension of the Kelly Post experience, giving families the opportunity to choose a higher level of commitment while remaining part of the Kelly Post community in the face of ever-expanding club lacrosse saturation. Cost will be determined when programming is finalized.
Team Structure
Given that this is the initial launch of Kelly Post Select, we are beginning by simply gauging interest to see what groups we can form this fall. Our goal is to evaluate whether we can form teams around the following age groups:
- Lightning Select: 2035–2036 graduation years
- Middies Select: 2033–2034 graduation years
- Junior Select: 2031–2032 graduation years
Going forward, we expect Select teams to be established as part of the spring team formation process, with those teams carrying through the following summer, fall, and winter.
In summary, Kelly Post Select is designed for families who want additional development and competitive opportunities while remaining rooted in the Kelly Post community. It is an optional path for players seeking a higher level of commitment, without requiring families to take on the full time, travel, and financial demands of club lacrosse.
